Hi everyone,
News like this doesn't come every day, so you can imagine how hard it has been for me to sit on this since the tail end of 2025.
While 2025 was a year I may never forget, with some of the biggest career milestones to date, the biggest news by far came in November when I was told that as of 1/1/26, I would be appointed as the 19th Connecticut State Troubadour!
There are still so many moments when this doesn't feel real or that I struggle to fully understand the scope of what this new role means, but I will have the next three years as Troubadour to get my bearings and get to work on all the things I want to do in this role.
Some highlights for the month of January include:
A few new sections have been added on my website about my new role, in-school visits, and workshops that I will be doing across Connecticut
New shows are being added daily to my calendar, but most notably On the Trail's debut at the legendary Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury on 1/31 at 7:30PM
A completely separate page for my Newsletters and Blogs is also now available on my website
This new position is something beyond just fuel in the tank--it's validation of who I have been trying to become throughout my career so far, and it's confirmation that who I am and what I stand for fall in line with the state that I call home. I have no clue what is to come next outside of what my normal work has been to this point, but I do know this: I will continue to trust myself, even more fully, and be all that I can be to represent Connecticut as I have been appointed to do.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being in my corner, and a special thank you to anyone that may have taken the time to nominate me for this position. I am beyond honored to serve as Connecticut's new Troubadour, and (as always) I hope to see you at a show or two sometime this year.
With love,
Charlie
